Magdalena Lazarkiewicz

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

MAGDALENA LAZARKIEWICZ Television, feature and theatre director, writer. Born in 1954 in Warsaw. Graduated in 1976 from the Teratology Department at Wrocalw University and 1981 Television and Film Directing Department at the University Of Silesia in Katowice. From 2005 onwards a lecturer at Warsaw Film School.
Wife of late Piotr Lazarkiewicz, mother of Antoni Lazarkiewicz, sister of Agnieszka Holland.
She won the Grand Prix at the 1986 Creteil International Women’s Film Festival for BY TOUCH (Przez dotyk) and special Jury Prize at the 1992 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for DEPARTURE (Odjazd) shared with her husband.
