DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday August 23th\, from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm \nWhere: Dexter Huron Metropark’s Central Shed \nAdmission: Free for active members of AAPA (paid 2025 dues)\, Others $6/person or $15 for family (of 3+) \nPark Entry: Unless you have an annual pass to Metro Parks there is a fee $10 (1 day permit/car) or else you can purchase an Annual Permit to all metro parks\n\n \nAddress: 6535 Huron River Drive\, Dexter\, MI 48130 \nFood: Grilled sausage and bottled water included with the admission \nPlease bring a side dish to share and some extra cash for the gift basket raffle! \nSpecial Attractions: : \nGames for Children  \nGroup activities for children of all ages will be organized by Marta Avery\, including “Find something in the River” competitions. \nIf you have some games multiple children could play and want to share games please contact Marta to coordinate. \nRiver Polonia Parade \nDuring the picnic\, we are planning to organize a 30-minute raft float (River Polonia Parade) down the Huron River. We plan to float from the bridge in Dexter to the picnic site in Dexter-Huron Metropark. The parade will be led and organized by Wojciech Szeliga . \nThis short stretch of the river is very calm\, without any rapids\, and you can participate using any floating device (including an air mattress) . The parade will start at 3:00pm. The starting point is about a 10-minute drive upstream from the picnic site. We can provide transportation for participants\, as long as their floating equipment is of an appropriate size. All interested participants are kindly asked to bring their own floating device\, as well as flags\, scarves\, pennants\, and other Polish-themed items to highlight the festive character of the parade. \nPlease note that all participants take part in all the events at their own risk.

DESCRIPTION:Our 31st Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival is fast approaching. \nThe start is on Thursday\, October 31 at the State Theatre with Horror Story\, a Halloween-worthy film screening. On Friday\, November 1 at 6:30 pm we invite you to an Opening Gala in the historical Michigan Theatre. The reception will be followed by the screening of Kos/Scarborn by Paweł Maślona. \nIn the Festival program on Saturday and Sunday\, November 2 & 3 at the Michigan Theater\, you will find jury-selected documentaries and short films\, feature films: Święto ognia/Feast of Fire\, and Doppelgänger. Sobowtór/Doppelgänger. The Double\, as well as a children’s program with Kicia Kocia and O psie\, który jeździł koleją\, accompanied by a book fair. This year\, we will again present a Ukrainian film\, Slovo House at the Michigan Theater on Saturday\, November 2. \nFor 31 years\, the Festival has been organized with a great participation of the Polish community volunteers and substantial financial contributions from private and institutional sponsors. DESCRIPTION:August 19th\, from 3-6 PM \n \nDexter-Huron Metropark\, Central Picnic Shelter\n \nIt’s a Potluck / BYOB event\, but the AAPA will provide grilled kielbasa\, kaszanka\, chleb and soft drinks.\n\n   \n \nThe event is free to members and others are encouraged to join or make a donation of $5 to help cover costs.\n \n(Please note that the Metropark itself also charges a $10 per-car fee.)\n \nFor those joining us for the first time\, this annual event is popular with folks of all ages.  \n \nWe will have good food\, good conversation\, and a raffle.  Feel free to bring a ball\, frisbee\, etc.!\n\n \nChildren often end up wading in the river (so\, bring a towel/sandals/swimsuits for kiddos).\n\n \nWe are excited and hope to see you and your family there!\n\n \nDo Zobaczenia!
